Garmin isn't done tweaking its high-end watches. The company has released Beta Version 22.37 for the Fenix 8 series, and this one is all about fixing things that have been annoying owners for weeks.
The headline fix: a battery drain issue that's been plaguing the Tactix 8. Garmin confirmed in a forum post that the update resolves an outstanding power-hogging problem specific to the Tactix 8 AMOLED Solar. If you've been watching your battery percentage drop faster than expected, this one's for you.
More Than Just the Tactix
But the Tactix 8 isn't the only watch getting attention. Beta Version 22.37 also addresses crash fixes for golf activities across all compatible smartwatches in the lineup. So if you've had your round mysteriously end mid-swing, this update should sort that out.
There's also a fix for an issue in older builds where dive depth would automatically reset to zero after hitting maximum depth. It's a niche problem, sure—but for the divers who rely on Garmin's tactix line for underwater work, it'll matter.
The Bigger Picture
This beta drops just weeks after Garmin pushed System Software 22.35, a major stable update that brought a wave of new features to the Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix 8 Pro Solar, Enduro 3, Fenix E, and Tactix 8. That update added free inReach satellite SOS capabilities (with some strings attached), golfing improvements, and a handful of UI refinements.
At the time, Garmin suggested v22.35 would close out the v22.xx beta program. Version 22.37 proves that wasn't quite the final chapter.
When Does It Hit Stable?
Garmin says 100% of beta program participants should have already received a notification to download Beta Version 22.37. If you're in the beta program and haven't seen it yet, check your notifications or force a sync through Garmin Connect.
For everyone else, history suggests this lands on the stable channel within days. Garmin typically moves quickly once a beta is deemed solid, and with crash fixes and a battery improvement in the mix, this feels like a short-cycle release.
If you're running a Tactix 8 and noticing your battery life isn't living up to Garmin's claims, the fix is close. Keep an eye on your Garmin Connect app.
